Vaulted/Unvaulted Items And New Weapons

Its a brand new season of Fortnite, leaving the high-flying Marvel adventures of Season 4 behind in favor of a bounty hunter-themed chase across dimensions. It’s a little tricky to follow exactly what’s going on: the big Zero point thing is back in the center of the map, Agent Jonesy is around and doing something, and there are now a bunch of holographic NPCs offering quests. But we’ve also got some more standard changes going on, amidst all of that.

We don’t have official patch notes, which is common, but dataminers and watchers have unravelled most of what’s going on here. We’ve got a ton of valuted and unvaulted items, some new weapons and some bug fixes. Let’s take a look. Credit goes to Fortnite intel for collating datamined info.

New items/Objects:

  • Dragon Shotgun
  • Shadow Tracker
  • Bounty Board
  • Gold Bars & Safe
  • Boom’s Sniper Rifle (Mythic)
  • Amban Sniper Rifle (Mythic)
  • Mandalorian’s Jetpack (Mythic)

New Floppers:

  • Tiger Zero Fish
  • Leafy Zero Fish
  • Skull Zero Fish
  • Rift-To-Go Flopper
  • Sandstorm Rift Flopper
  • Zero Point Flopper

  • Charge Shotgun
  • Double Barrel
  • P90
  • SMG
  • Storm Scout Rifle
  • Tac Shotgun
  • Balloons
  • Heavy AR

  • Revolver
  • Fire Trap
  • Scoped Assault Rifle
  • Epic/Legendary Pump Shotgun
  • Legendary Combat Shotgun
  • Scar
  • Epic/Legendary Tac SMG

In addition to that we’ve got mild buffs on Tactical shotgun damage and Heavy AR rate of fire. It’s possible there are more changes that people haven’t noticed, so stay tuned.

The vaulting/unvaulting system has been a boon for the game as it moves into this more mature phase. The team cranked out so many items over the course of the first two years or so that there’s much less need to make more stuff: you can shake up the loot pool pretty significantly every season without having to make a ton more stuff.

I’ve already spent some time in Team Rumble with the highly effective P90, but I’m also very curious to see how the balloons will affect things: they were always a fascinating item when they were in the game. I’d expect more stuff to come out as the story evolves, too, so stay tuned.
