In the box-fighting meta of Fortnite, any exploit you can use to gain an advantage is fair game. This Fortnite strategy lets you build a ramp through an opponent’s wall.
Like it or not, we’re in the era of box-fighting in Fortnite. There is a time and a place for massive build battles, but high-ground retakes have taken a backseat to edits, wall-takes, and ramp flips when it comes to viable in-game strategies.
There are several goals in a box-fight. You can aim to take a wall, trap an opponent, fool them with an edit, or phase into their structure. Exploits have been found that allow you to complete all of these if you know the right tactics to use.
Reddit user Ganno45 posted a video to the r/FortniteCompetitive subreddit explaining how to build ramps through an opponent’s wall. You have to weaken the wall, look in the proper direction and place a ramp in your opponent’s box.
This isn’t a new strategy at all. In fact, it’s been in the game for several months at the time of this writing. Still, not many players have figured it out and even fewer have provided a tutorial on how to complete it.
You’ll rarely see people building through walls in competitive Fortnite matches, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a viable box-fighting strategy. If you do it quick enough, your opponent won’t even know what hit them. They may even assume you took the wall and stop holding, allowing you to break in for the finish.
This is one of the more underground Fortnite exploits out there. It’s known, but not implemented across the board. It’s a great way to fool an opponent if you have high ping and can’t take a wall.
Even if you’re not someone to practice something like this, you should look out for it in public matches. Let us know in the comments if you’ve been able to pull this off in a game.
