Rubius Joins Final PogChamps 3 Field

Chess.com is pleased to announce that the field for PogChamps 3 presented by Grip6 is set. This star-studded field was already loaded with fan-favorite streamers returning from previous PogChamps events like xQc, Ludwig, and Cr1tikal, new participants like streaming superstars Mr.Beast and Pokimane, and various celebrities like the rapper Logic, poker legend Daniel Negreanu, and actor Rainn Wilson.

So who are the new participants? Let’s take a look!


Rubius

PogChamps 3 participants: El Rubius.

Ruben “El Rubius” Gundersen rounds out the incredible field for PogChamps 3. The Spanish-Norwegian superstar runs one of the top 10 Twitch channels and is also the creator of Spain’s biggest YouTube channel. El Rubius broke rapper Drake’s YouTube record for most concurrent viewers during a Fortnite stream and will have the support of his 39.5 million subscribers during PogChamps 3.

Tubbo

PogChamps 3 participants: Tubbo.

Tubbo, a well-known Minecrafter and frequent player in the now-famous Dream SMP, is a veteran of BotezLive’s Blockchamps, which became the highest-viewed Twitch chess stream in history on January 16. The young British creator is a cerebral thinker who has shown a natural understanding of the game that makes him a dark horse to do well against this already-strong field of players. Tubbo’s x-factor comes in the form of the massive Minecraft community who will be backing him, including his friends and fellow Minecraft celebrities GeorgeNotFound, Tommyinnit, Wilbursoot, and perhaps even the mysterious Dream.

Benjyfishy

PogChamps 3 participants: Benjyfishy.

At just 16 years of age, Benjyfishy is already one of the top Fortnite players on the planet with an accompished resume including having qualified for the Fortnite World Cup four times in his young career. Benjy has done collaborations with the Botez sisters and discovered his passion for chess during the pandemic. In fact, his passion runs so deep that he will be playing in PogChamps 3 in between his commitments to the Fortnite Championship Series, one of the most prestigious events in Fortnite. With some training, Benjy has the potential to challenge for the PogChamps title.

Sardoche

PogChamps 3 participants: Sardoche.

League of Legends and variety streamer, Andréas “Sardoche” Honnet, will be representing the ever-passionate French community during PogChamps 3. Historically, League players have fared particularly well in previous editions of this event, with former pro VoyBoy winning the first-ever PogChamps and players like Boxbox and Yassuo impressing in their debuts as well. Sardoche comes into the event as one of the top-rated players and a favorite to win the competition in front of thousands of French fans.

Neeko

Neeko.

Best known for her “Okay Boomer” viral social media hit, Neekolul is actually an avid chess player. In fact, at more than 1,700 games played across all time controls, Neeko has played more chess games on Chess.com than any other participant in the competition. The 100Thieves content creator joins the fold after having done pre-Covid collaborations with the Botez sisters and having streamed chess for a staggering 168 hours on her Twitch channel Twitch.tv/Neeko.
