EA has previously hinted at its plans of taking Apex Legends mobile. The game had trounced Fortnite by reaching the 10 million unique players mark faster (within 3 days itself). Fortnite took two weeks to touch this mark. Within a week, it had ensnared 25 million players. The battle royale game featuring eight playable ‘legends’ had reached the 25 million player mark by February 12, 2019. It went on to touch the 70 million mark.
Apex Legends is created by Respawn Entertainment and is a free-to-play first-person-shooter battle royale game. The game was published by Electronic Arts and released first on Microsoft Windows and later on PS4 and Xbox One. It is a purely squad-based game in which you can play in a team of maximum three players. A total of 20 teams with 3 players in each (a total of 60 players instead of 100, unlike PUBG) land on an island, collect items and weapons and fight for survival. You can choose from eight characters or ‘legends’ with each one of them having different sets of abilities. Each team is supposed to have a team leader, also known as Jumpmaster who decides when and where to jump. Also, unlike PUBG, Apex Legends has marked hot zones for supplies.
