Is GTA Online shutting down? Latest developments

Apex Legends has its fair share of bugs and server issues, just like any other popular multiplayer game. However, we’ve found a great way for players to check their region’s Apex Legends server status, so let’s get into it.

Apex Legends’ latest season dropped on May 4 with some serious server issues. A record amount of players were attempting to log in to the game, which ultimately crashed and caused issues for EA’s server.

Although the situation was fixed shortly after the release of Season 9: Legacy, players encounter these issues fairly often and may even wonder whether it’s an issue on their end. If you encounter any future server issues, we have a great way for you to check the Apex Legends server status.

Are Apex Legends servers down?

After the latest Genesis Collection Event update, people were experiencing some serious server issues, with reports that players could not connect to servers, crashing and lagging out from games, and even getting “game logic” errors.

The development team also dealt with a hack associated with the “Save Titanfall” movement, which actually put a stop to many player’s matchmaking.

The most recent matchmaking and server issue was addressed by Respawn very quickly and resolved with a fix that went live on July 5, so for those who were suffering, you should be good to jump back into the fight.

The good news is that Respawn has addressed these issues fast and effectively, allowing players to continue enjoying the game. In fact, the recent issue in Ranked, which was preventing matchmaking for highly ranked players, was fixed quickly with two updates:

  1. “The issue with Masters+ Ranked matchmaking may take 72 hours or more to fix due to QA requirements.”
  2. “An issue with the “Frag Out” banner frames for Bloodhound and Rampart is causing game crashes. Unequipping these frames may help—please spread the word!”

Some of the player’s issues were a simple fix of just actually updating the game.

How to check the Apex Legends server status

One of the most obvious ways to stay updated on the server status is by following updates on Apex Legends Twitter account and the development team at Respawn.

Usually, one of those accounts will be updating and communicating to players about any server issues that are going on at the time. Further, you could even follow the Director of Communications for Respawn, Ryan Rigney, who is usually great at keeping players in the loop.

If you don’t have Twitter, or you have checked and haven’t seen any update on a server issue, perhaps the problems you are experiencing are that of your own setup or region.

There is a great way to check the regional Apex Legends server status for these specific problems so that you can see whether the issues you are experiencing are regional or due to your internet service provider.

The way to do so is through a handy website called apexlegendsstatus, which will give you a breakdown of server status in all the available regions, as well as all the platforms you could be playing the game on.

The website will even tell you how much latency (ms) there is in each server, which is a great indication of its stability.

Further, you can also report issues if there isn’t too much notice about the issue on the website, which will be added to a live report map you can check to see if people in your region are also experiencing the issue.

So, if you’re having issues, check this website to see whether it’s the platform or server you are playing that is having issues, or if these are all up and running, you can put it down to your setup.

Well, there you have it. This is the best way you can check the Apex Legends server status. For more on Apex, stay tuned to Charlie INTEL and check out our recent article on what Ordnance are and how to use them.
