Fishsticks wants players to free fish from freezers in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5, and this guide will teach players how they can do so.
Instead of punchcard achievements, players in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 are asked to perform different activities by the season’s NPCs. The tasks the NPC asks the player to complete are sometimes related to the character making the request. Fishsticks is one of those characters who asks the player to free his fishy brethren from the frigid depth of the dastardly freezer.
Fortnite Season 5 introduces friendly NPCs that are scattered around the map. These NPCs can provide players with equipment in exchange for gold, be hired as an extra teammate, initiate bounties for other players, and be challenged to a duel for a legendary or epic weapon. They can also offer players challenges that reward players with gold once completed. Different NPCs give players different challenges, and these challenges can last for several hours once activated. Here’s how to free fish from freezers to complete Fishsticks’ challenge.
Free Fish From Freezers In Fortnite Season 5
This challenge doesn’t require much from players as they only need to open one freeze for it to be completed. This is probably the reason why players are only rewarded 1,000 XP for completing the challenges. Nonetheless, in order to free fish from freezers, players need to locate and open a single freezer. Freezer boxes are scattered all over the map and will drop 1 to 2 fish once opened. The map above shows where a few freezers are located, but they can also be found at almost any named landmark or POI.
While it may seem morbid, Fishsticks doesn’t care what the player does with the fish once they’re freed. The second the freezer is open, the mission is complete and players get their measly reward. Players are free to eat the fish to gain health or shield, or they can leave them to rot on the floor. Sadly, the fish are already dead before the player could free them but that won’t stop Fishsticks from thanking them for their valiant effort. This quest is among the easiest to complete as players will likely open freezers when playing normally. This challenge is also one that can appear in the player’s active missions randomly without being prompted meaning players could complete it without knowing they had it in the first place.
Fortnite is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Android devices.
