Fortnite brings the funny with its new Arrested Development crossover. Unlock custom skins, back bling, and sprays to the Battle Royale island.
April Fool’s! Did we get you? This crossover isn’t happening, but Fortnite Season 6 will likely have a lot more surprising ones coming!
For the upcoming 18th anniversary of Arrested Development, the Bluth Company and Epic Games have combined for the greatest crossover event ever in Fortnite. Existing Battle Pass players will now have an opportunity to purchase the chance to unlock exclusive skins, sprays, and emotes from the beloved series, as well as tour the Bluth family house in Creative Mode. Included in the pack will be Buster Bluth, George-Michael Bluth, and The Banana-Grabber. The Banana-Grabber is an especially interesting inclusion, as data leaks have indicated it is actually related to Fortnite‘s Peely character, thus solidifying both franchises as truly existing in the same universe.

Players who want to unlock the Fortnite x Arrested Development Skins will have to follow a few steps. Firstly, they must own this season’s Battle Pass and level it up to 68. Once achieved the player will unlock the exclusive Arrested Development pack for purchasing at the cost of 1000 V-Bucks. This pack will introduce the player to randomized Loot Packs that can be purchased with the new in-game currency introduced throughout the island, Cornballs.
Cornballs in Fortnite will not come easily though, as Epic Games‘ official announcement on Twitter reveals, players will have to seek out The Cornballer in Salty Springs. Each Cornball collected will damage the player slightly so be sure to bring plenty of Slurp Juice. Once a player has 50 Cornballs they can purchase the Arrested Development Loot Box which has a random chance of containing Buster, George-Michael, Banana-Grabber, Dead Dove Spray, Franklin Back Bling, Chicken Dance Emote, or most commonly, Egg.
The Buster Bluth skin is clearly the main draw here and Fortnite has spent extra attention on the lovable brother’s skin. Along with the classic purple sweater and hook combo skin, players can unlock 3 exclusive styles for Buster including Motherboy, Loose-Seal, and Drone-Pilot.
Starting April 1st and running 24-hours a day until April 30th, Fortnite players will be able to head into Party Royale at any time and watch the entire Arrested Development series play out on the Big Screen. Epic will also be including behind-the-scenes moments, gag-reels, and deleted scenes in-between seasons. Players will be able to enjoy all this for free and without the risk of dying since Party Royale has a strict “No Touching” policy.
With the constant barrage of Marvel, DC, and video game character crossovers it’s nice to see a change of pace when it comes to Fortnite. The new skins look great and add a flair that just hasn’t existed for a long time in this Battle Royale game. With Arrested Development characters now filling up the lobbies it opens the pathway to other expired television comedies making their way into the game. Perhaps soon players will be able to combine their Community, Married With Children, or even Curb Your Enthusiasm characters to create the ultimate battle squad.
Fortnite is available on Android, iOS, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
