Everybody is expecting the next Fortnite update – that’s patch 12.60 – to drop sooner rather than later. Many insiders are suggesting the patch will drop later this week, but nothing has been confirmed by Epic at the time of writing.
We’ve previously about the two new upcoming patches in Fortnite that’ll prime the game for the launch of Season 3 – which is due to kick off in early June.
But what content will Epic include in these upcoming patches for the game?
We’re expecting an announcement about the update tonight (May 19) with Epic pushing the patch live on Wednesday (May 20).
Gaming insider and trusted source for all things Fortnite, iFireMonkey, has posted a video that runs through all the things we can expect to see in Fortnite 12.60.
Check out the video below to learn more.
iFireMonkey lists a few things – so here’s a quick rundown of what we’re expecting to see once the new update is up and running in-game.
First up, the insider suggests we’re going to see the Shadow version of The Agency appear in the game, altering the POI from its current state.
“A few updates ago a shadow version for the Agency was added,” the leaker tweeted previously.
“Considering he hasn’t swapped to Shadow yet this is either a red herring or will happen sometime during v12.60.”
iFireMonkey also suggests we’re going to see Stage 3 of the Doomsday weapon manifest in the newest update.
The video goes into more detail about this, but the long and short of it is that iFireMonkey has worked out all Doomsday updates seem to happen in 6 day increments.
That means we can expect the next stage of the Doomsday device wires to show up on May 20th, at about 10AM ET (that’s 3pm UK time).
We’ll have more for you as it appears.
There are also a series of ‘Storm the Agency’ challenges that are due to release this Season, and between Doomsday shenanigans and Agency changes, it seems Epic is really pushing the narrative forward as we approach Season 3.
A few graphics glitches coming from various places around the internet seem to suggest high water levels in-game, too.
This might suggest that the big map change in Season 3 will be some sort of flood – perhaps that’s what the Doomsday device creates once it’s properly triggered?
It remains to be seen, and information is still quite sketchy, but we’re almost certain to hear more from Epic about the new patch (and possibly some downtime to go with it) pretty soon.
We’ll update you when we hear more.
