‘Fortnite’ Season 5, Week 3 Challenges Leaked Online

So far it’s been a pretty fun season of Fortnite. It’s a “hunter” themed season. Jonesy from the real world is going around nabbing bounty hunters from other dimensions and zapping them into the Fortnite map. Next up is Michonne and Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead. It’s kind of a Legends Of Tomorrow setup, if you will.

In any case, we’re already three weeks in, or will be when new weekly challenges drop tomorrow. We’ll also likely see the start of the Snowdown holiday event, which has its own batch of free challenges and rewards.

In Season 5, challenges are broken up into various tiers. There are weekly Legendary challenges which you have to finish in a week. There are Epic weekly challenges which are exactly like challenges from the past. Then there are other tiers—Rare, Uncommon and Common—which are punch-card, special Daily and regular Daily challenges.

On top of that there are bounties which you can get via NPCs scattered about the map, which you’ll earn Gold Bars for completing rather than XP. It’s all . . . a bit much and kind of overwhelming, and the menu UI is a bit convoluted, but here we are. Never a dull moment.

Season 5, Week 3 challenges have leaked online following yesterday’s big update. Dataminers have actually discovered several week’s worth of challenges, but for the purpose of this post we’ll just look at the ones dropping tomorrow. Unfortunately, these are nowhere near as interesting as last week’s excellent batch of challenges. For some reason, Epic released one very cool week of challenges in Week 2. There was evidence planting, clue gathering, car part finding.

This week? It’s just blah—unless something changes between now and tomorrow, which is entirely possible.

Here are the leaked challenges:

Legendary Challenges

Legendary Challenges are worth 55,000 XP for the first stage and 22,000 XP for each stage after, with a cosmetic reward if you finish all stages.

  • Eliminations while in a Vehicle (5 stages)

Epic Challenges

Epic Challenges are worth 20,000 XP each.

  • Damage players with Assault Rifles or SMGs (0/500)
  • Headshot Damage to players with Pistols or Sniper Rifles (0/200)
  • Destroy Toilets (0/3)
  • Loot Chests in Craggy Cliffs, Holly Hedges or Retail Row (0/7)
  • Eliminations with Rare weapons or greater (0/3)
  • Eliminations while in a Vehicle (0/1)
  • Loot Ammo Boxes in Salty Towers or Colossal Coliseum (0/7)

One reason these might change is the second-to-last Epic Challenge. It’s eliminations while in a vehicle, which is the same as the Legendary Challenge. That doesn’t make much sense, so maybe a better, more interesting challenge will take its place. We shall see.

Challenges go live tomorrow morning at 9am ET.
