Players have noticed that Epic Games has added audible ticks to the Tilted Towers clock in Fortnite, puzzling fans and teasing future content.
Players have been left baffled by a recent update to the battle royale game Fortnite, which added audible ticks to the large clock for the first time. Season 6 has made a number of significant alterations to the title, including the addition of raptors to Fortnite alongside other animals such as wolves and boars. Users can harvest these creatures for materials or even tame them to become allies.
The success of Epic Game’s incredibly popular game has allowed the developers to collaborate with other entertainment properties in spectacular crossover events. A recent crossover series sees Batman getting a Victory Royale as part of a new series by DC Comics, which sees the Caped Crusader team up with Catwoman to battle a variety of fighters from Fortnite.
Fans have begun speculating online about a recent mysterious change in Fortnite that no one can fully explain. The large clock that was originally located at Tilted Towers has been updated so that it now has very faint but eerie ticks as the hands move around the face. Dataminer Mang0e posted footage of the clock’s ticks and posed the question of why Epic has made this change now. Many fans suggested that it could be some sort of tease about the end of Season 6 or the Start of Season 7. Some replies to Mang0e’s Tweet suggest that it could be a clue that Tilted Towers is set to return, although it might also just be an innocent modification that doesn’t mean anything significant.

While fans are generally happy with the new content and changes made to Fortnite, there have been some issues in recent months. The sheer amount of updates to the game means that bugs and glitches are a constant threat. One of the biggest issues over the last few weeks has been a duplication glitch that allowed players to obtain an infinite amount of healing and throwable items in the battle royale game.
Fortnite has a long history of teasing upcoming additions and seasons with little clues or hints, so it makes sense that many players will be taking notice of the newly introduced ticks to the clock. Of course, it could also be a small alteration that doesn’t necessarily suggest any future content. Fortnite fans will likely just have to wait until Epic reveals more information, or until dataminers uncover more details.
Fortnite is available as a free-to-play title on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
