Fortnite outage today means gamers won’t be able to play for several hours

The Fortnite server will be down today for several hours to allow for upgrades to take place.

The downtime started at 7am this morning and could go on for up to five hours affecting PS4, Xbox, PC, Switch and Mobile platforms.

It is thought that the Unstable Bow, new Vehicle cosmetics and 50-player matchmaking in Creative will be included as part of these maintenance works.

The maker of Fortnite, Epic Games, launched season six of the game on March 16 and has been adding new content every few weeks to keep it exciting.

In season six players will go through the ending of Agent Jones’ mission in the Zero Crisis finale – an event that will have long-lasting consequences.

Fortnite is a game where you can have lots of different experiences and it has become a huge favourite amongst gamers – you can choose to hang out with friends, create a world of your own or even take down monsters and save the world.

The Fortnite World Cup was cancelled last year due to Covid, however, fans are keen for the competition to take place this year.
