Fortnite Naruto, Dragon Ball Z and other anime skins – release date, price and more

Fortnite fans can look forward to the addition of popular anime characters to their favourite game.

According to a leak from renowned data miner Twea, an upcoming collaboration between Epic Games and Japanese publishing company, Shueisha, could see Fortnite breaking into the world of anime.

Although the popular battle royale game has added anime skins in the past in Season 6, they were just variations of one skin, Chigusa, in three different anime styles rather than unique anime characters.

However, if the leak from Twea is accurate, the collaboration with Shueisha could see Fortnite being opened up to characters from a huge catalogue of manga and anime titles including Naruto, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, Hunter x Hunter, and more.

Here’s what we know about the potential crossover between Fortnite and anime.

Which anime characters could be added to Fortnite?

Shueisha is the company which publishes manga such as Bleach, Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, Naruto, and One Piece, among others and according to Twea, Epic Games is working with the company on a “few anime collabs,” which could mean the prospect of playing as Naruto, Goku or any of the other popular characters could soon be a reality.

Given access, these various anime franchises have enough material to carry an entire season of content in the game, inspiring several new points of interest on the Fortnite map, with skins based on Deku, Goku, Luffy, Naruto, and the various supporting characters from their respective franchises.

At the moment, however, there are no details regarding the exact titles that could be involved in the deal.

When is the release date for the anime skins?

Twea did not provide details of when players can expect the addition of anime skins.

Fortnite is still in Season 7 of Chapter 2 – out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X – which is expected to finish sometime in September and it is not expected to transition to Season 8 until a couple of months later.

It’s possible that these anime crossovers could be the central focus of Season 8, but Fortnite fans will have to wait a bit longer to have more substantial details on it.
