Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 kicked off last week, and it introduced an array of new content and changes to the battle royale. The update restructured the map with watery POIs, adding features such as Whirlpools, and new PvE enemies like Loot Sharks and Marauders. Season 3 also brought additional mythic weapons, consumables, cosmetics, and challenges. Apart from that, Punch Cards have replaced the old Battle Medals system, and some new gameplay dynamics have also been implemented.
The anticipation for Season 3 was perhaps the longest, and Epic Games has delivered a proportionate amount of content. The season has quickly gained momentum, and the developers have no plans of stopping by the looks of it. Now, leaked information has surfaced that hints at a new throwable item coming to Fortnite.
FireJar coming soon to Fortnite?
The leaks arrive courtesy of LunakisLeaks, a Fortnite leaker and data miner. The leaker was able to obtain audio files of the potential new item coming to the game, which he revealed in a YouTube video. The “FireJar” looks like a jar with fireflies trapped inside, typically resembling a molotov cocktail of sorts. Judging by the leaked audio, it sounds like a throwable item that could set surroundings on fire.
Recently, Fortnite implemented innovative fire mechanics for this season. As a result, fire can now engulf and spread across wooden buildings and structures. Even players take damage if they are too close to the burning wooden builds or structures. Players also take damage when standing on the flames of campfires. Currently, propane tanks are capable of setting structures on fire. Therefore, it makes sense for the developers to add more throwables that can utilize the new mechanics.
Leaks about the FireJar or the Firefly Jar have been circulating for a few weeks now. The latest discovery of the audio files could indicate the new item coming to Fortnite in the future. Considering the new fire mechanics introduced, throwing a FireJar at enemies or wooden builds should inflict significant damage, as well as destroy the builds.
For now, there is no official word, nor a time frame from Epic about the inclusion of FireJars into Fortnite. Meanwhile, you can count on us to keep you posted with further developments.
