Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 has introduced a new emote in the store that is making waves in the community. It features a dance step choreographed by none other than Grammy Award-winning artist Bruno Mars and was bought to life by Anderson .Paak.
Called “Leave the door open”, the emote features a voice clip from Bruno Mars’ latest single alongside some funky dance moves. Currently, the emote is retailing for 500 V-bucks.
This will not be the first time Fortnite has partnered up with a renowned artist. Previously, the game has had lucrative collaborations with pioneers like Travis Scott and Marshmello. The Travis Scott Astronomical event and Marshmello’s concert had twelve and ten million viewers, respectively.
Both Epic Games and Bruno Mars took to Twitter to announce this new collaboration. Fortnite’s tweet showcased an in-game rendition of the dance with the caption “Grab the Leave the Door Open Emote with music by Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic. Dance Moves by @BrunoMars.”
On the other hand, Bruno Mars’ tweet showcased the artist in action.
Fortnite streamers like Faze Thiefs, Reverse2K and Faze Replays all couldn’t help but sing along with the emote when they first discovered it.
April Fool’s prank on the Fortnite Community
Recently, Fortnite fans were teased with a collaboration featuring another Grammy Award winner by the name of Ariana Grande. A group of data-miners like Hypex and concept artists all teamed up to “leak” an upcoming Ariana Grande skin.
Leakers showcased the pop-star in two different attires. First, in a pink outfit with her natural brown hair and the second style featured Grande in a blue outfit and her hair dyed silver.
However, the entire thing ended up being an April Fool’s prank. Hypex apologized saying, “The Ariana Grande skin leak was an April Fools joke for those who couldn’t tell, sorry for that.”
D3nni too revealed that it was a prank with this animation of the leaked skin performing the “Take the L” emote.
