A bug in Fortnite has made it so players cannot complete any of the game’s challenges, and none of their progress towards the challenges is counted.
UPDATE: EPIC GAMES HAS NOW FIXED THE BUG ACCORDING TO ITS TWITTER ACCOUNT. HOWEVER, THOSE THAT HAD FINISHED QUESTS PRIOR TO THIS FIX WILL HAVE TO REFINISH THEM NOW IN ORDER TO GET CORRESPONDING REWARDS.
At the start of week 7 of Fortnite Season 5, players have encountered a bug that prevents them from progressing any of their challenges. Challenges are one of the quickest ways for players to gain large amounts of XP, but players are having to grind through their Battle Pass tiers the old fashion way until Fortnite revolves the issue.
Each week, Fortnite offers players a new set of themed challenges that reward players with hundreds of thousands of experience points. While players have 10+ weeks per season to reach Battle Pass tier 100 and claim all of the season’s rewards, these challenges make it much quicker and easier to climb through the ranks. Before weekly challenges were implemented, only the most skilled players would reach level 100. Now, players of all skill levels can unlock every Battle Pass tier through the completion of each weekly challenge.
However, players will have to put their challenge progression on hold as it has been reported that quest progression is not being tracked for daily or weekly challenges. Notable Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey tweeted that all challenges are bugged and cannot be completed. Fortnite‘s Status Twitter account addressed the issue by stating that Epic Games is investigating the issue and will provide more info in the future. As of writing, the issue still has not been resolved.
Welp it’s come to my attention that ALL challenges are bugged right now and can’t be completed, yikes.

Luckily, players are still able to gain experience by playing matches normally. Players can earn varying levels of experience depending on how long a player survives, how many eliminations they get, and a plethora of other actions. Players also gain a large experience bonus if they are able to secure a Victory Royale. However, gaining experience by simply playing requires a lot more skill than completing more remedial weekly and daily challenges. Regardless, players who want to earn the Baby Yoda back bling can still make progress towards their end goal while the challenge bug remains unresolved.
It is very unfortunate that a bug like this occurs on the day that the new set of weekly challenges is set to launch. This is usually a great opportunity for players, and it draws more players back into the game to complete the new challenges. However, the lack of completable challenges may detour players from returning to Fortnite until the bug is fixed. Hopefully, the bug is fixed much faster than the Sand Tunneling glitch which still hasn’t been resolved after a couple of weeks.
