As an incentive to continue leveling up, Fortnite is introducing super level Relic Styles for several of Season 6’s new characters.
Invested Fortnite players are used to grinding. With a new Battle Pass rolling out each season, players can unlock various wraps, gliders, pickaxes, and skins, among other things over the course of 100 tiers or levels. While the majority of the rewards end there, Fortnite is now offering special super level Relic Styles for several of its Season 6 characters.
Epic Games’ popular free-to-play battle royale is well into its fourth week of Season 6. Dubbed “Primal,” the new season has seen many changes to the game’s meta, including the addition of fauna such as chickens, wolves, boars, and even dinosaurs. Season 6 also introduces a primal weapon crafting system, map alterations, and other changes that remain somewhat divisive among fans.
With the Chapter 2 Season 6 Battle Pass, players are able to exceed Season Level 100. Called “super leveling” by Epic, players can unlock additional bonus rewards by reaching certain level milestones. These rewards come in the form of new skin styles for the Fortnite characters Tarana, Raz, and Spire Assassin. According to a blog post on the game’s official website, “The Spire has sent a mysterious energy” influencing the trio and creating multiple “Relic” styles. These styles are categorized as Chromium, Runic, and Golden styles. While all three sets look visually stunning, feasibly attaining them is an entirely different story.
Fortnite has made acquiring the Relic Styles no easy task. The first batch of alternate skin styles is the Chromium. Players will need to hit level 110 for Tarana, 130 for Raz, and 150 for Spire Assassin. The Chromium features a silvery metallic, monochromatic look, although this one likely won’t be accused of being pay to win. The next set is the Runic Styles, which is basically the Chromium, but with glowing purple runes on the body. These can be unlocked in the same character order at level 160, 180, and 200. Finally comes the Golden Styles, which transforms the silver into a brilliant gold. The ultimate reward for hardcore Fortnite players, the last styles are unlocked at level 205, 215, and 225.
Fortnite has been all gas, no brakes with regards to rolling out new content as of late. In addition to the recent crossover Llama-Rama event with Rocket League, the battle royale has its Spring Breakout event. The seasonal event brought back the Egg Launcher alongside Easter-themed cosmetics, in-game rewards, and more. This week, Fortnite is also reintroducing its “Reboot a Friend” program. By playing a certain number of matches with someone who hasn’t played for 30 days or more, both can progressively unlock items like a new Lobby Track, Emoticon, Pickaxe, and Weapon Wrap.
The new super level Relic Styles are sure to entice avid Fortnite players to continue playing well past this season’s Battle Pass offerings. With a couple of months left remaining, it should be really interesting to see what else Fortnite has in store for its radically different Season 6.
Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
