Fortnite Patch Notes Update – Fortnite update 12.40 server maintenance downtime has ended and you likely already know about all the secret skins and more which have leaked this morning.
However in a surprising turn of events, Epic Games have released some genuine patch notes for this latest update.
Crazy as it sounds, the devs have outlined some of the changes that have been implemented with the latest patch.
For now, those wishing to know all the nitty gritty details that Epic Games have changed, follow the link below for all the official 12.40 patch notes.
ORIGINAL STORY – Fortnite Update 12.40 has been released this morning with a confirmed 1.15GB download on PC.
File sizes for the new update on PS4, Xbox, Switch and mobile isn’t clear yet.
Epic Games Fortnite Servers are still down and unlikely to return to normal for another few hours, but already the games huge team of dataminers are starting to comb through the new files.
And as players suspected, it contains a wealth of leaks including new skins and a variety of cosmetics.
One of the coolest looking skins includes a Cable skin, the famous Marvel comics character commonly in association with X-Force and the X-Men.
Cable is usually twinned with Deadpool and given the recent Deadpool skins and challenges it only makes sense to add Cable into the game as well.
However, that’s not all, there’s also a new Deadpool skin style coming, something that was commonly believed to be happening due to a leak prior to the release of the 12.40 update.
However, players probably didn’t realise what Epic Games had in store, but now it seems we know.
It looks like the new skin style will add a silver X-FORCE Deadpool skin into the game. Pretty snazzy if you ask us.
First up, it looks like the Fortnite Shark is now a Prison POI, which gives off old prison vibes a little bit.
It looks like a pretty big area to explore, and seems to be set up a bit like an arena, too – which should make for some fun match-ups.
It’s hard not to look at the revamped POI and not get Season 4 flashbacks. We imagine this will be at the centre of some lore expansions and challenges as the weeks go on.
Next up, we’ve got a bit more info about Spy Games.
“Copycat your opponents, push through pain with Strong Resolve, or stock up mid-combat with Resupply,” reads a description found the game’s files.
“Unlock these new Tech upgrades and more by playing Spy Games today!”
It looks like we’re going to get some interesting new modes and stealth-based challenges, to boot!
More to follow.
