Flare Gun, Captain America skin & more

The first content update of Fortnite Season 3 is live with new items, cosmetics and a few important bug fixes.

What’s new?

After originally being teased in a Fortnite short back in June 2019, the Flare Gun is finally available in game. Working in a similar way to the new Firefly Jars, shots have the power to set enemy builds alight, slowly burning them down.

The Flare Gun will also temporarily highlight nearby opponents on screen in the same way that the Proximity Mine does.

Also added in the v13.20 patch was the Deployable Workbench. This item takes up a slot in your inventory and allows you to place down an Upgrade Station at your leisure. Just how practical this will be remains to be seen, but it has some interesting potential.

Charge Shotgun

Players have been desperately waiting for this update in the hopes that it would add the Charge Shotgun to Creative mode. The new weapon is very unique and Fortnite fans want to practice with it before they can feel confident in real matches.

Unfortunately, Epic have still not introduced the Charge Shotgun and have even patched the only working method of using it via certain maps on Creative fill.

Cosmetics

An outfit inspired by Marvel Comics Superhero Captain America is expected to release as a surprise 4th of July celebration. There are also rumours that his legendary shield will become available as a Back Bling or Harvesting Tool.

Here are all other leaked cosmetics courtesy of popular Fortnite leaker @HYPEX.
