Epic Games and Marvel have dropped the final teaser for Season 4 of Fortnite along with the final two pages of the comic book that saw Thor arrive on the Fortnite island to try to warn everyone that Galactus was coming.
Yes, it’s going to be a Marvel-themed season of the game. While the past couple seasons have featured both Deadpool and Aquaman (a DC hero), this season is taking things much further. And unlike past skins, the Marvel characters coming to Fortnite in Chapter 4 aren’t based on the MCU films—they’re based on the comic books. That’s pretty rad.
In the final part of the comic book, Sif uses the bifrost to summon help for Thor as Galactus makes his dramatic entrance into the Fortnite universe. A whole bevy of superheroes show up:
- Captain America
- Iron Man
- She Hulk
- Dr Doom (not really a hero)
Not all of these will necessarily be Battle Pass skins (along with Thor). Captain America is already a skin in the game and I’m not sure that they would add him again, though this would be a comic book, rather than movie, version of Cap. Some of these (including Sif) might only show up in the Item Shop. Which will be the Tier 100 skin (Dr Doom, probably) and which will be the Tier 1 heroes (Wolverine and Storm?) remains to be seen, though we’ll know all that tomorrow.
Here are the final two comic book pages:
The teaser image above shows some of these characters in the letter “S.” If you string all the teaser images together in order you spell the word NEXUS:
Season 3 of Fortnite ends tonight, so you only have a few hours left to wrap up the Battle Pass which, quite frankly, was pretty weak. Season 4’s looks to be much, much more exciting.
Season 4 will kick off tomorrow with a new Battle Pass, map changes and a story trailer that will help flesh out the comic book pages. There will be no live event, sadly, which has been replaced with said comic book pages this time around, but I expect a Season 4 live event showdown between the heroes and Galactus will be epic enough to make up for that.
