Every X-4 Stormwing Location in Fortnite Season 5

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 sees the long-awaited return of the X-4 Stormwing planes, and here is where each and every one is located on the map.

As a part of this year’s Holiday event, the X-4 Stormwing airplanes have flown their way back into Fortnite, and like Chapter 1 they can only be found in specific locations around the map. This guide will show players the exact location of each plane making them easier for players to track down and take to the skies.

The X-4 Stormwings are single cockpit airplanes that can hold up to 4 players. They come equipped with boosters and some light artillery making them one of the best ways to traverse the map. While first introduced in Season 7 of Chapter 1, X-4 Stormwings were much more overpowered back then than they are now. Having a bottomless tank of gas and an incredibly large health bar, the meta for Season 7 was to hop in an airplane and stay there. While these aircraft are still a force to be reckoned with, they can’t stay in the air nearly as long due to lower health and the need to be refueled with gas.

The map above shows all five Snowmando outposts which are also the five locations where planes can be found. Snowmando outposts aren’t normally heavily contested as they aren’t known for their hearty supply of loot, and the NPC which patrols each location only offers The Big Chill which doesn’t damage players. However, even if an opponent lands at the same outpost as the player, there are three planes at each outpost making it a lot more likely that a player will walk away from the landmark with a plane.

Players should keep in mind that planes do require fuel to fly, and each plane had a different amount of fuel already in it. If a player is alone at their outpost, they should pick the plane with the most fuel. As well, planes have the ability to boost for a short distance, but even a short boost consumes a very large amount of fuel. Players should use their fuel sparingly and should know that planes won’t prove to be very viable in the last few storm circles. Yet, players can also redeploy their gliders when ejecting from planes making it easier to make a quick getaway if the plane does run out of fuel or is about to be shot down by opposing players.
